Role

An opportunity has arisen for the role of Consultant 2nd VP - Private Capital Administration - Fund Accounting within the Luxembourg Alternatives team.

This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to share and develop expertise across the full private markets lifecycle and work closely with leading asset managers, investors, AIFMs, auditors and other service providers in a dynamic and fast-growing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fund Administration & CLIENT DELIVERY

• Manage the day-to-day operational activities and service delivery for a portfolio of alternative investment structures, ensuring service levels, KPIs and deadlines are met.
• Prepare and review NAV statements, investor capital account statements, year - end financial statements and annual accounts, subscription tax statements. Knowledge of capital calls, distributions, partner transfers, true ups, performance fees waterfalls bookkeeping and calculations (where applicable) is required.
• Ensure tax compliance work prepared by the tax advisor reconciles with the accounting data.
• Ensure in collaboration with the transfer agency team that accurate investor and fund records within Investran and related systems are maintained and checked against financial reporting.
• Respond to client, investor and internal stakeholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, investors, AIFMs, auditors, tax advisors, and other key stakeholders, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Maintain a good archiving system as per NT standards with the related financial, tax documentation and KPIs (where applicable), for each client.
• Operates under general supervision but works on their own most of the time. Participates on large and/or complex projects and/or runs independently important clients.
• Demonstrates excellent analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills.
• Build and maintain good relationships with other NT internal related teams (relationship managers, clients service delivery managers, depositaries, custodians, regulatory, etc).

GOVERNANCE & Operational Excellence

• Perform oversight and review of activities completed by outsourced and offshore service teams, ensuring governance, controls and service standards are maintained.
• Monitor deliverables, deadlines and service metrics, escalating risks and issues as appropriate.
• Act as a point of escalation for operational matters and support the timely identification, resolution, and communication of issues and risks.
• Ensure adherence to Northern Trust policies, procedures and operational controls.

• Support process improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement and standardisation of operating policies and procedures.

LEADERSHIP & TEAM COLLABORATION

• Build effective working relationships across teams and contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
• May lead projects and provide coaching and support to junior team members through day-to-day guidance and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to departmental and cross-functional projects and process improvement activities.
• Participate in training and development initiatives across the department.

R equirements (Qualifications and Knowledge/Skills/Competencies)

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Luxembourg, in Private Equity Fund Accounting or Private Equity Fund Administration as a whole (both fund accounting and transfer agency). Knowledge of Investran is a very strong advantage.
• Strong understanding of Luxembourg alternative fund structures, including RAIFs, SIFs, SCSp, SICARs and related regulatory requirements.
• Experience working within a client-focused operating environment and offshore and onshore internal teams.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability and problem-solving capability.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement.
• Adaptable and flexible to changing environments and strategies.
