• Job purpose The Head of Data Analytics for Sun Life Philippines will:
  
  • Own the overall strategy and implementation of the companies data analytics including Business Intelligence agenda
  
  • Inject best practices from other financial services industries and adjacent industries to promote the companies data analytics maturity
  
  • Accelerate organizational capability for data analytics including but not limited to people, process, platform and products
  
  • Own the business impact and metrics of Data analytics
  
  • Partner with regional Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics, shared services in PH and India to deliver data analytics portfolio commitment
  
  • Partner with external organizations and data analytics organizations to lend support in Sun Life's journey towards a data-driven culture
  
  • Manage data analytics talents and cross-functional teams from Sales, Marketing and Operations to help them fulfill their data analytics-driven and analytic-enabled program aspirations
  
  The role reports to the Chief Transformation Management Officer, and will closely work with the Chief Business Transformation Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

• Deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.

• Proficiency in platforms such as R, MATLAB, SAS, Python and some experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Microstrategy.
• Experience business-friendly data visualization tools
• Passion to really understand the business, about asking and answering the right questions to generate business insights and formulation of sound use cases, pilots and programs to drive business aspirations.
• Strong business communication and excellence in making complex concepts simple and easy to understand by the business.

• 10+ years' experience of successfully working with analytics teams in variety of settings, including insurance and wider financial services.
• An advanced data science thinker, doer and expert who likes diving in to solve new problems and design/implement new platforms and solutions.
• Experience solving analytics problems using quantitative approaches and predictive modeling, with a marketing analytics focus.
• Experience with data mining, machine learning and predictive analysis
• A business and technical leader who brings the ability to develop solid professional relationships and become a productive member of a wider team
• Proven high-level strategic, creative-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to build teamwork and a healthy, respectful, yet driven culture
• Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships to influence change

• Head the Data Analytics Team to deliver sound client-centric and business-building data analytics program, process and platform
• Lead in understanding, translating business problems and transforming it into a strong and steady funnel of business-building use cases, pilots, campaigns and program
• Own the business impact and metrics of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence from incremental to transformational programs as agreed with the business
• Work with your Philippine IT, Regional Centre of Excellence for Data Analytics and Enterprise Services colleagues to produce enhanced data collection procedures to include processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis, as well as including additional information that is relevant for building analytic systems / models.
• Owns overall accountability of delivery of data analytics and business intelligence program for Sun Life Philippines
