Your role

Are you an analytical thinker and interested in country and political risks? Are you familiar with macro-economic concepts and enjoy working with data and developing new solutions with AI/LLMs? For our Country Risk Internship / Economics, Data & AI Program we are looking for someone who can help us to:

• support the team in managing country risk data and processes for rating and model reviews
• contribute to innovation projects through AI/LLM adoption and data/process automation/visualization
• proactively engage with team members to support deliverables in the areas of country and sectoral risk

Your team

You will be working on-site as part of the global External Risk Assessment Team in Kraków, Poland. As part of Group Portfolio Management, our mandate is the assessment of political & global risks, assignment of country and related ratings and development of macroeconomic scenarios for stress testing. All related rating and model processes rely on sound data management and governance practices in order to ensure high quality standards and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

In our Internship Program, you will have a chance to gain insights in the areas of country risk analysis, rating assignments and model development. You will support the team in the relevant data and model processes, as well as in projects in the area of process automation/visualization and innovation with AI/LLM. This is an ideal way to gain the practical work experience you'll need to launch your career in areas like credit risk, economic research and/or data analysis. It's also an opportunity to work with and learn from various experts in risk control and apply your technical skills in different projects. Your paid internship will last 6 months, based on a 40 hour week, with options for part-time work.

Your expertise

• bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (economics or other social sciences, finance, statistics, mathematics, etc.)
• basic understanding of macro-economic concepts and strong interest in data
• foundational coding skills in Python are required
• skilled user in MS Office and Microsoft Excel, knowledge in VBA is a plus
• working knowledge of Power BI/PowerApps and AI/LLM (e.g. for personal research, analysis) is beneficial
• curiosity to explore how AI can improve how we build, deliver, and optimize workflows. You do this with sound judgment - validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
