Markets IT Capability Manager, Vice President

State Street Corporation Krakau, Polen
Markets IT Capability Manager, Vice President
Think start-up energy, backed by enterprise scale.

We are building modern platforms within a global organization-combining the agility, ownership, and engineering freedom of a start-up with the stability and funding of an industry leader. You'll work in a highly collaborative, international environment where your contributions directly shape real products used at scale.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a Vice President-level Capability Manager to help establish, scale, and sustain Markets IT in Poland as part of the global Markets IT operating model.

This is a build-and-own leadership role. The successful candidate will act as the local execution partner for global Markets IT leadership, converting global demand into a sustainable Poland capability and helping position Poland as a strategic location for advanced technology, research-oriented and AI-enabled work.

The role will partner closely with global Markets IT leadership, GTS Poland leadership, Talent Acquisition, University Relations, Marketing and local functional teams to build a high-impact capability, execute the recruitment strategy and support long-term engagement and sustainability.

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

What you will be responsible for

  • Act as the local owner for establishing and scaling Markets IT in Poland, with accountability for delivery against agreed headcount, capability and quality goals.
  • Translate global Markets IT strategy, roadmap and hiring demand into a clear and executable local growth plan.
  • Lead the build-out of the Markets IT team in Poland, from initial hires to a sustainable multi-year capability.
  • Drive execution of the recruitment strategy, including role prioritization, hiring sequence, candidate quality, seniority mix and hiring velocity.
  • Actively steer and coordinate Talent Acquisition, University Relations and Marketing activity to strengthen the Markets IT message in the Polish technology market.
  • Build strong relationships with global Markets IT leaders, GTS Poland leadership and the broader local technology ecosystem.
  • Help create a clear team identity, branding and engagement model for Markets IT Poland, aligned with both global Markets IT priorities and the GTS Poland operating model.
  • Identify risks, blockers and underperforming channels early, making pragmatic trade-off decisions and escalating where required.
  • Support long-term scalability through pipeline creation, succession planning and continued focus on engagement and retention.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role:

  • Proven track record of building teams, capabilities or new operating models from early stage to scale.
  • Strong exposure to global operating models and complex, matrixed stakeholder environments.
  • Builder mindset: ability to move from strategy to execution without over-engineering.
  • Executive-level communication skills and the ability to engage credibly with senior global stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence outcomes without relying only on formal authority.
  • Strong ownership mentality and accountability for outcomes, coupled with a proactive approach to building relationships and maintaining deep understanding of the wider organization, strategy, and operating model.
  • Resilience and ownership in ambiguous environments where the path is not fully defined.
  • Technology fluency sufficient to engage credibly with senior engineers, researchers and Markets IT leaders; hands-on technical expertise is not a must.
  • Understanding of recruitment, employer branding, university engagement or talent pipeline development in a technology context would be an advantage.

Education&Other
  • Bachelor's. degree in Finance or technical fields of study required. Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • 12 years of relatable experience including
  • Significant experience in financial services, governance, business development, capability build-out, recruitment strategy execution, technology delivery or related leadership roles.
  • Experience working across global teams and senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience building new teams, capabilities, communities or operating models would be strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent an organization externally and build credibility with industry, academic, and talent-market stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent follow-through, organization, attention to detail and time management skills.

Note: The role requires a minimum of three days per week working from the office
