About the role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant to join our team as part of a project. In this role, you will support the underwriting team with day-to-day activities, administrative processes, and the coordination of underwriting-related information. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, has a structured approach, and is interested in gaining further exposure to the insurance and reinsurance industry.

Your responsibilities

• Register all relevant data from Underwriting submissions, acceptances and declinations in our
• IT systems
• Prepare in the relevant systems renewal information in a way that the Underwriter can start its
• risk assessment work and, in doing so, learn the basics of risk assessment
• Review and assess contractual wordings with regards to changes from prior years and, in
• doing so, learn the basic features of reinsurance contracts
• Work together with Technical Accounting and Claims Management to ensure that we provide
• a proper and timely service to our clients and brokers
• Maintain full overview of administrative matters with respect to selected client relationships
• Visit preparation for client/broker meetings • Maintaining an orderly filing system (physical and/or in electronic format)
• On an as needed basis, training of new starters / temporary UW assistants • Involvement in back-office projects

Your profile

• Background in mathematics or a related quantitative field
• Any previous experience in a similar role within an international insurance environment is a
• plus
• Experience in re/insurance industry would be a strong asset
• Proficiency in English and preferably another European language
• Good knowledge of MS-Office applications; additional IT knowledge would be an asset
• Capable of working independently and managing pressure
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach
• Friendly, positive personality with excellent communication skills, strong team spirit, and practical problem-solving abilities
