Head of Marketing

Morgan McKinley London, Vereinigtes Königreich
Head of Marketing
**Please only apply if you have a background in the aerospace industry**

Our client is a newly established, private equity-backed manufacturing group specialising in precision-engineered components for the aerospace and defence sectors.

The business is growing through acquisition and has ambitious expansion plans over the next few years. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint their first Head of Marketing to build the marketing function and help shape the company's future.

The Opportunity

Reporting into the leadership team, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for creating and delivering the company's marketing strategy. This is a broad role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and offers the opportunity to build a brand from the ground up.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders to strengthen the company's market position, support business development and ensure a consistent brand across the growing group.

Key Responsibilities

The Head of Marketing will:
  • Develop and deliver the overall marketing and brand strategy.
  • Build a clear and consistent brand as the business continues to grow through acquisition.
  • Plan and deliver marketing campaigns that generate new business opportunities.
  • Produce market and competitor insights to support commercial decision-making.
  • Create engaging content, including technical articles, case studies, white papers and digital marketing materials.
  • Support the Business Development team with presentations, bid documents and marketing collateral for major sales opportunities.
  • Manage the company's presence at industry exhibitions, conferences and events.
  • Oversee PR activity and corporate communications, including announcements relating to business growth.
  • Manage relationships with external marketing, PR, creative and digital agencies.
  • Monitor marketing performance and use data to improve future activity.
Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong background in B2B marketing within a technical, engineering or highly regulated industry.
  • Experience developing and implementing successful brand and marketing strategies.
  • The ability to explain complex technical products and services in a clear and engaging way.
  • Experience delivering digital marketing campaigns, PR and industry events.
  • A track record of generating leads and supporting business growth through marketing.
  • Experience working with CRM systems and marketing analytics.
Experience within aerospace, defence, manufacturing or a private equity-backed business would be beneficial but is not essential.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will be:
  • A confident communicator who can tell compelling business stories and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a growing business.
  • Commercially minded, with a strong understanding of how marketing supports sales and business growth.
  • Analytical, using data and insight to guide decision-making.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Collaborative, with the confidence to build strong relationships across the business.
  • Professional and detail-oriented, ensuring all communications are accurate and appropriate for highly regulated markets.
Leadership Style

The Head of Marketing will be expected to:
  • Build strong relationships based on trust and collaboration.
  • Lead with integrity and professionalism.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with people at all levels.
  • Support the business through periods of change and growth.
  • Encourage open communication and continuous improvement.
  • Influence stakeholders through strong commercial thinking and effective communication.
