We are seeking a Transaction Monitoring Model Validator to play a critical role in the governance, validation, and deployment of Quantexa models. Acting as the central coordination point throughout the model lifecycle, you will ensure that robust governance and risk management frameworks are established and maintained in line with business requirements, particularly within Transaction Monitoring (TM) and Financial Crime environments.

Working closely with Data Scientists, Developers, Risk teams, and key business stakeholders, you will be responsible for ensuring full traceability of model development and validation activities. You will provide assurance that validated models operate as intended, documenting the end-to-end rationale behind model decisions, including the supporting evidence, methodology, assumptions, and validation outcomes.

The role requires a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on involvement, ensuring models meet governance standards while supporting efficient and pragmatic delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate model validation activities throughout the model lifecycle.

  • Ensure robust governance, risk management, and validation frameworks are implemented and maintained.

  • Work closely with Data Scientists, Developers, and Risk teams to validate model design, performance, and implementation.

  • Establish and maintain complete model traceability, ensuring transparency of decisions and outcomes.

  • Document the "what, why, and how" behind model development, validation findings, assumptions, and recommendations.

  • Produce clear and comprehensive validation reports, covering model performance, safety, risk considerations, and implementation rationale.

  • Monitor and track validation activities, ensuring issues are identified, managed, and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Challenge model outputs, assumptions, and methodologies where appropriate to ensure robust validation standards.

  • Identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement across models, data, processes, and documentation.

  • Support stakeholders in making informed, risk-based decisions by balancing regulatory requirements, delivery timelines, accuracy, and business objectives.

  • Drive accountability across teams and ensure validation activities remain on track for successful delivery.

Required Experience & SkillsModel Validation & Governance

  • Experience supporting or leading model validation activities within a regulated environment.

  • Strong understanding of model governance, risk management, and validation frameworks.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Data Science, Development, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.

  • Demonstrable experience producing high-quality validation and governance documentation.

  • Ability to define, measure, and monitor validation progress, including issue management and remediation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to facilitate pragmatic decision-making across competing priorities such as cost, time, accuracy, and risk.

  • Experience driving accountability and maintaining momentum across multiple workstreams.

Delivery & Execution

  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.

  • Strong project management and coordination skills.

  • Ability to contribute hands-on to validation activities, documentation, and governance processes.

  • Experience managing complex deliverables within challenging timelines.

Problem Solving & Collaboration

  • Pragmatic approach to balancing regulatory, certification, and business requirements.

  • Ability to make informed trade-offs between ideal outcomes and practical delivery constraints.

  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify risks, gaps, and dependencies before they become issues.

  • Strong collaborative approach, working closely with Data Scientists and technical teams to challenge assumptions and validate outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Quantexa platforms and Financial Crime solutions.

  • Experience within Transaction Monitoring (TM), AML, Fraud, Financial Crime, or Risk Analytics environments.

  • Understanding of model risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.

  • Experience validating machine learning, analytical, or rules-based models.
