Product Manager, Ratings Platform & APIs (New York)

Fitch Group New York City, USA
Product Manager, Ratings Platform & APIs (New York)
Fitch Solutions is currently seeking a Product Manager based out of our New York office. Product Manager, Ratings Platform & APIs

We are seeking a Product Manager to own the planning, development, and ownership of our flagship Ratings Data & Research platform and APIs. This role is accountable for translating customer and stakeholder needs into a prioritized roadmap, clear requirements, and an execution plan that delivers measurable outcomes. You will partner closely with Business Strategy, Engineering, Design, Customer Success and Fitch Ratings teams to define problems, validate solutions, and ship high-quality enhancements to the platform and APIs. You will iterate based on usage data, client feedback, and operational performance (e.g., quality, timeliness, reliability).

The ideal candidate brings hands-on product management experience, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of credit professional workflows. Success in this role requires end-to-end ownership: leading discovery, writing and socializing clear product requirements (e.g., PRDs, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria), prioritizing trade-offs, aligning stakeholders, and driving delivery with cross-functional teams. You will define and monitor product KPIs (adoption, retention, revenue impact, data quality and timeliness, client satisfaction) and use them to guide iteration, release planning, and continuous improvement.

As the product manager, you will be responsible for increasing value to the business through new product launches along with enhancements and support of existing products through the company's flagship platform, Fitch Ratings PRO. Fitch Ratings PRO is an innovative, robust and comprehensive platform serving the workflow needs of credit and macro professionals globally. Collaboratively working with other product managers across the team, you will be executing on the overall vision set out by the Head of Product.

How You'll Make an Impact

Own the product direction for the Fitch Ratings PRO platform and ratings APIs. Define OKRs/KPIs, prioritize a roadmap that balances client value, revenue impact, data quality, and technical feasibility, and maintain a transparent release plan. Drive prioritization decisions with clear rationale and documented trade-offs, balancing new capabilities against reducing technical debt.

Customer & Domain Discovery

Bring knowledge of credit data and research and how their workflows translate into product requirements. Conduct ongoing customer discovery (interviews, workflow walk-throughs, feedback sessions) and partner with Sales and Customer Success to validate needs and confirm value before and after release. Be a passionate product champion externally with clients and internally as the voice of the customer.

API Product Development

Lead the full lifecycle of data products from conception through launch and continuous improvement. Gather and group requirements into initiatives and epics, sequence and prioritize them, and prepare them for engineering breakdown. Maintain focus on data quality, usability, governance, and scalability throughout.

Business-to-Technical Translation & Delivery

Serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating needs into PRDs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria. Lead agile delivery including backlog management, sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives. Manage capacity, dependencies, and delivery risk in partnership with Engineering and Data leadership.

Go-to-Market & Performance

Support product launches, sales enablement, and positioning. Track adoption, retention, revenue impact, data quality, and client satisfaction metrics to guide iteration and continuous improvement. Communicate product performance and roadmap health to stakeholders through Quarterly Business Reviews and other working sessions, and support clients directly through documentation, training, and enablement.

You May Be a Good Fit if You Have...

  • 7+ years in product management, ideally in financial services, financial information services, or FinTech

  • Genuine expertise in credit markets - market structure, workflows, client segments, and commercial dynamics

  • A track record of driving initiatives from discovery through delivery across globally located cross-functional teams

  • Experience in Agile environments, using Jira, with iterative delivery

  • Comfort working with technical teams and a solid understanding of software development

  • Awareness of where AI/ML creates genuine value in a data product context

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to align and influence in a matrix environment

What Would Make You Stand Out

  • Experience building or managing commercial products in credit

  • Hands-on AI/ML application: intelligent search, LLM chatbots, recommendation engines

  • Experience spanning both platform/website capabilities and APIs

  • Ability to rapidly prototype with tools such as Figma Make
