Working within the Model Advisory & Management team, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Business, Risk and Finance to improve commercial efficiency, strengthen risk management practices and support regulatory compliance throughout the model lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the end-to-end implementation and embedding of Wholesale IRB models into business processes, including impact assessments, readiness activities and adoption support.
  2. Drive model outcome optimisation by identifying opportunities to improve data inputs, systems, processes and model usage to enhance risk and capital efficiency.
  3. Conduct deep-dive reviews and data analysis to identify gaps, exceptions and improvement opportunities.
  4. Develop and deliver model training programmes, including user guides, FAQs, factsheets and stakeholder training sessions.
  5. Review model selection and usage practices, identify control weaknesses and support remediation initiatives.
  6. Assess and enhance credit risk policies and frameworks, recommending simplifications and improvements where appropriate.
  7. Identify opportunities to leverage AI and GenAI tools to improve team productivity, efficiency and performance.
  8. Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business, strategy and model landscape.
  9. Build knowledge repositories and facilitate learning sessions covering areas such as climate risk modelling and economic capital.
  10. Act as a trusted SME, providing technical and commercial guidance on W-IRB model-related matters to senior stakeholders across the organisation.

Essential Experience

  1. Strong background in wholesale banking and/or wholesale credit risk, gained within areas such as Coverage Banking, Debt Origination, Credit Risk, Portfolio Management, Finance or Credit & Capital Management.
  2. Excellent knowledge of W-IRB models and their application across the credit lifecycle, including risk rating, origination, monitoring, capital, RWA and pricing.
  3. Experience supporting the implementation and adoption of risk models or methodologies within business environments.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience investigating data, process, policy and control issues.
  5. Proven ability to review and improve risk governance, policy and control frameworks.
  6. Outstanding stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business messages.
  8. Demonstrated experience delivering complex initiatives in large, global and matrixed organisations.

Desirable Experience

  1. Understanding of the regulatory environment relating to IRB models, model risk and wholesale credit risk.
  2. Experience utilising AI/GenAI tools, automation or prompt engineering to drive productivity improvements.
  3. Exposure to economic capital modelling and/or climate risk data and modelling frameworks.
  4. Experience creating knowledge assets, training materials and leading educational sessions.
