Title: Attorney - Insurance Compliance & Litigation
Salary: $100,000 - $170,000 Base + 20% Bonus
Company Summary
A growing insurance, retirement, and investment management organization is seeking an Attorney to join its Legal Department. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with senior legal leadership on a broad range of litigation, regulatory, and insurance compliance matters while supporting a collaborative and highly visible legal team.

The Attorney will be responsible for…
- Supporting all phases of litigation and pre-litigation matters, including consumer complaints, disputes, and regulatory inquiries
- Assisting with litigation strategy, reporting, and the management of outside counsel
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings, discovery responses, and regulatory submissions
- Advising business stakeholders on insurance compliance and regulatory requirements
- Partnering with compliance, fraud, operations, product, and technology teams on legal and regulatory matters
- Responding to regulator inquiries and assisting with regulatory examinations and investigations
- Analyzing legal and regulatory risks associated with insurance products, distribution channels, and business initiatives
- Monitoring developments in insurance law, litigation trends, and regulatory requirements affecting the business
- Providing practical, business-oriented legal advice and problem-solving support across the organization
- Supporting broader compliance initiatives and risk management efforts
The Attorney should have the following qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) and admission to the Connecticut Bar, or ability to obtain admission
- Approximately 3-5 years of legal experience
- Experience in insurance compliance, insurance regulation, litigation, or related regulatory matters
- Experience interacting with regulators or supporting regulatory inquiries preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated ownership mentality and desire to work in a collaborative team environment
- Insurance industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience at a law firm and a strong interest in building an in-house career is welcomed
