Your new company

An established global financial services and payments organisation is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to drive new client acquisition across Singapore and the broader APAC region. This is a highly commercial hunter role suited to individuals who enjoy building relationships, opening new doors, and developing revenue opportunities through a combination of prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.

Your new role
This role focuses on winning and developing relationships with mid-market to large corporate clients that have significant cross-border payment, foreign exchange, and risk management requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for originating new business opportunities, leading consultative sales engagements, and helping clients navigate international payments and hedging challenges.

• Build and manage a pipeline of corporate clients requiring international payments, FX, and risk management solutions.
• Generate new business revenue through consultative sales and solution-based conversations.
• Engage with business owners, finance leaders, treasury teams, CFOs, and C-suite decision makers .
• Identify client challenges relating to foreign exchange exposure, international payments, and treasury management.
• Conduct business development activities including cold calling, networking events, industry conferences, referrals, and strategic partnerships.
• Manage the sales process from initial engagement through onboarding.
• Collaborate with internal product, risk, compliance, and client management teams.
• Maintain accurate pipeline and sales activity records within CRM systems.
• Stay informed on market developments, competitor activity, and regulatory requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

Candidates may come from financial institutions and banks, payments and fintech organisations, or commodities and trading houses.
Essential Experience

• Proven success in B2B business development, sales, or relationship managemen t.
• Experience within:
  • Foreign exchange (FX)
  • International payments
  • Treasury solutions
  • FinTech
  • Banking
  • Trade finance
  • Capital markets or related financial services sectors
• Strong consultative selling and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience engaging with senior corporate decision makers.

Preferred Experience

• Experience managing or acquiring clients with annual revenues exceeding SGD 20 million.
• Understanding of FX products, hedging solutions, forwards, derivatives, or risk management products .
• Experience working with multinational corporations, import/export businesses, commodity trading firms, or large regional enterprises .
• Knowledge of cross-border payments infrastructure and treasury workflows.
• Experience operating in highly regulated financial environments.

Licencing

• CMFAS certification/licencing in Singapore is highly preferred.
• Candidates who can immediately engage in regulated discussions about FX and hedging products will be viewed favourably.
