Lead Analyst

Meraki Talent New York, United States
We are seeking a Lead Analyst to drive high-quality analytical delivery within our Retail Banking practice.
We are seeking a Lead Analyst to drive high-quality analytical delivery within our Retail Banking practice. You will take ownership of complex benchmarking workstreams, contribute directly to client engagements alongside senior colleagues, and develop your client-facing and team leadership skills.

This is based in New York City!

You will support strategic decision-making through benchmarking and market research, contributing to client discussions and producing high-quality insights and analysis. You will also play an active role in community forums, knowledge sharing and the ongoing development of the practice.
We are looking for a proactive, curious and diligent individual with strong analytical skills, a genuine interest in retail banking, and the ambition to develop broader delivery and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver complex retail banking data analysis and benchmarking workstreams to a high standard, working alongside senior colleagues.
  • Contribute to client meetings and discussions, developing client-facing experience and supporting the management of client relationships.
  • Interrogate, analyse and synthesise benchmarking data to produce clear insights and meaningful conclusions for client engagements.
  • Contribute to community forums and benchmarking programmes, supporting participation, content quality and wider business development activities.
  • Guide and support Analysts on delivery workstreams, helping maintain a high-quality and collaborative working environment.
  • Take increasing ownership of analytical delivery, client interaction and workstream management, developing towards a Project Leader role.
The role places a strong emphasis on personal ownership and accountability. Lead Analysts are central to the delivery of client engagements and are expected to develop their analytical expertise, leadership capabilities and commercial awareness over time.
Job Requirements, Qualifications and Experience
  • 3–5 years of experience within financial services, consulting or market research, with retail banking experience preferred.
  • A strong bachelor's degree in an analytical or quantitative subject.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality analytical work, with increasing responsibility and client exposure.
  • A sound foundational understanding of retail banking, including lending, deposits, payments and digital channels.
Technical Skills
  • Strong ability to interrogate, interpret and synthesise data to identify meaningful insights, with an interest in benchmarking data, retail banking performance metrics and structured survey datasets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, including pivot tables and working with complex datasets, as well as PowerPoint for presenting clear, well-structured findings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently with complex, multidimensional datasets and draw actionable conclusions.
  • A good understanding of retail banking products, performance drivers and competitive dynamics, alongside the curiosity to develop this knowledge further.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy across all analytical outputs and client deliverables.
Non-Technical Skills
  • Clear, structured communication skills, with the ability to present analytical findings confidently to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Developing client relationship skills, including building rapport, responding professionally to client queries and supporting senior colleagues in managing relationships.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to understand product specifications, including scope, complexity and scale, and accurately communicate product attributes in line with client requirements.
  • Emerging coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and support Analysts during delivery.
  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in how client relationships develop and new business opportunities are generated.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset, demonstrating personal ownership, initiative and a commitment to team and business objectives.
What Success Looks Like Success in this role will be measured by delivery excellence, analytical rigour and growing client confidence. Within the first year, a successful candidate will have:
  1. Delivered high-quality analytical workstreams – producing accurate, insightful and well-structured outputs that meet client and senior stakeholder expectations.
  2. Developed confidence in client interactions – contributing effectively to meetings and beginning to build direct relationships with client contacts.

  4. Supported delivery and commercial objectives – contributing to community forums, benchmarking programmes and wider project delivery.
  5. Become a valued team contributor – effectively supporting Analysts and establishing a reputation as a reliable, collaborative colleague.
Who You Will Work With You will join a collaborative, delivery-focused Retail Banking team, gaining increasing exposure to clients, senior colleagues and strategic projects.

You will work closely with Project Leaders and Principals, who provide guidance and oversight across client engagements. You will also support and guide Analysts, contributing to their day-to-day development and the overall quality of project delivery.

As your experience grows, you will build stronger relationships with client contacts and take increasing responsibility for workstream delivery and client interaction, progressing towards a Project Leader role.
