Schonfeld's ex-head of macro research is back with an agentic AI analyst for you

Jaime Villa, who left Schonfeld in May 2024 and who briefly joined Citadel Securities in London for one year, has launched a company to create an "agentic AI infrastructure for asset management."
Villa's company, Macro Technologies, has commenced its agentic AI infrastructure creation journey with something called The Macro Analyst, which it describes as "institutional research process encoded into software." The AI analyst will, "track marginal information, score committee state, update reaction-function probabilities, compare market pricing, surface curve mispricings, red-team trade theses."
Villa's AI analyst is explicitly "not a generic chatbot." It is a "domain specific agentic system that understands the investment process."
Villa, who began his career as a global macro strategist at Pimco presumably spent his year of enforced market absence working on the agentic analyst, which is presumably pretty good. Its arrival comes after Citadel CEO Ken Griffin said last month that AI has improved dramatically such that "work that we would usually do with people with masters and PhDs in finance over the course of weeks or months being done by AI agents over the course of hours or days."
Villa didn't respond to a request to comment today for this article.
