A JPMorgan infrastructure banker resigned. He is not going to Citi (for now)

Two months ago, we suggested that Dan Darley, an infrastructure banking managing director (MD) at JPMorgan in London might be on the list of people Citi would like to hire. Now Darley has resigned. But he is not going to Citi after all.

Darley didn't comment for this article, but we understand that he is taking some time out to be with his family and has nothing lined up. That time may last for 12 months or so.

Darley spent 15 years at JPMorgan before leaving on Tuesday this week.

Citi likes to hire JPMorgan bankers. It hired Vlad Ivanov from JPMorgan as co-head of infrastructure banking in EMEA in May. Ivanov spent nearly 24 years at JPMorgan and presumably knows Darley well. 

It does not seem inconceivable that Darley will join Citi one day, maybe when Ivanov's non-solicit expires sometime in late 2027? This is not confirmed, though.

Luisa Leyenaar-Huntingford, Citi's former co-head of global infrastructure banking, based in London, left in April, shortly before Vlad arrived. Citi hired her from Goldman in 2022. Her whereabouts are unknown.
