Lists are circulating of HSBC's Asian banker job cuts. They were big & deep

As we reported on Tuesday, HSBC made its Asian job cuts on Monday and is expected to cut in the US today and the UK tomorrow.

As the dust settles on the Asian cuts, it's becoming apparent how broad they were. 

Around 50 bankers lost their jobs in Asia earlier this week. Lists are circulating which purport to show the depth and breadth of individuals effected. Five managing directors (MDs) and heads of business went. And unlike London, where there are suggestions that analysts will be protected and reassigned tomorrow, the Asian cuts hit juniors too. 

There are no names on the list, partly to protect the identity of juniors let go after their careers had just begun. However, IFR reported earlier this week that the senior cuts included Venkat Rao, managing director for debt syndicate and head of local currency and private placements for APAC, and Luying Gan, head of sustainable debt capital markets for Asia Pacific.

HSBC declined to comment on the list below, which aggregates lists in circulation with information from HSBC insiders. In the US, insiders say people have been asked to work from home today so that the cuts can be communicated with minimal fuss. In Asia, people cut say there in the office.
