Millennium and Citadel made major technology hires in New York
Banks may not hire much at this time of year, but big hedge funds are not afflicted by similar cost pressures. They are still accumulating personages, some of whom have been hanging about on gardening leave since last Christmas.

One such person has, for example, arrived at Millennium in New York. Prasanni Thati was last seen at Citadel Securities in December 2024 as an engineering manager in the principal strategies group. He's spent a year out and has just joined Millennium as global head of volatility arbitrage technology.
Citadel the hedge fund has also made a major new hire for its technology team. Adi Lutvich joined the engineering team in New York, focused on cloud. Lutvich was last at Google, where he spent six years and was latterly a principal architect in the financial services team. Prior to that, he was at Amazon as a solutions architect. Lutvich seemingly had no gardening leave, reflecting the fact that tech firms and financial services firms are not direct competitors.
