Nomura's Singapore macro hiring is still going on

When Nomura announced its fourth quarter results last week, its fixed income sales and trading revenues were not the best. They rose by just 2% last year and the bank said its macro revenues declined in the Americas, at least.

The next time Nomura reports quarterly revenues, the situation may have changed. The Japanese bank is spending heavily to build out its macro business. Not in America, but in Singapore.

Nomura isn't commenting, but another raft of macro hires in Singapore are understood to be on their way. Multiple sources inform us that Yagnish Rathi, a former Morgan Stanley FX trader who spent the past two years at hedge fund Verition is joining Nomura's Singapore office. So too, we understand, is Ryan Fong, the head of financial sponsors clients FX sales for Asia at ANZ. Neither Rathi nor Fong have confirmed their moves.

We also understand that Anshul Sidher, the former global head of markets at ANZ, is arriving at Nomura in Singapore today.

The new arrivals are the latest in a stream of hires that also include Herr Ling Yeo, ANZ's former global head of FX and commodities (who arrived last week), and Raghav Joshi, a senior G10 FX trader who arrived from Santander but who also previously worked for ANZ.
