One of these weddings occurred in August. And now we understand that another is imminent.
The last wedding was between Qiao Sun, Morgan Stanley's former global head of STIR trading and Lara Conway Yates, a director in rates trading at Barclays in London. The next wedding is between Harriet East, Barclays' head of inflation trading, and Rayan Bouchikhi, a top Deutsche Bank rates sales guy who recently left for hedge fund Balyasny.
Senior people across the London market have been invited to the imminent nuptials in Marrakesh, which are expected to be lavish. There were unconfirmed rumours that Alan Howard might be there, maybe even Dmitry Balyasny too, but this is not the case.
If you aspire to work on the buyside, or to get ahead in the London macro world, an invitation to the wedding appears to be a measure of your importance. "I'm very excited," declares one invitee.
