In this role, you will take ownership of the complete software testing lifecycle, from test planning and automation framework development to performance validation and final release sign-off. Working with global engineering teams, you will test complex microservices architectures, strengthen automated testing processes, and help prevent production incidents across mission-critical platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA Engineer in Tokyo to deepen their expertise in test automation, microservices, CI/CD, and performance testing within a large-scale international technology environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and report on comprehensive functional and non-functional test plans to identify risks and prevent production incidents.
• Build, maintain, and enhance scalable test automation frameworks and automated scripts to improve software quality and accelerate release cycles.
• Conduct end-to-end QA for high-throughput microservices and web applications supporting real-time global transactions.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams and external development partners through technical discussions, test reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Take ownership of the complete testing lifecycle, from requirements analysis and test strategy through execution, defect management, and final sign-off.
• Troubleshoot complex quality and performance issues while continuously improving QA processes and automation coverage.

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in functional and non-functional test planning and execution for web applications.
• At least 3 years' hands-on experience testing microservices-based applications.
• At least 2 years' experience in QA automation, including test automation framework design and implementation.
• Experience testing complex, high-throughput, or mission-critical web applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of automated software testing practices across the development and release lifecycle.

Soft Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to resolving technical blockers.
• High level of project ownership and accountability throughout the QA lifecycle.
• Adaptable and fast-learning mindset suited to a dynamic engineering environment.
• Strong collaboration skills for working effectively with global and cross-functional engineering teams.

Language Requirements:

• Japanese: Basic level.
• English: Fluent / Business level, with TOEIC 800+ or equivalent preferred for global team collaboration.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, and Cucumber.
• Programming experience with Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go.
• Hands-on knowledge of microservices technologies and protocols including gRPC and GraphQL.
• Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, and MySQL.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Knowledge of performance testing and monitoring tools such as Gatling and Grafana.
