Trade Control & Valuation Analyst - Commodity Trading

Join our Client's Finance team as an independent control function, ensuring trading results are accurate, supportable and aligned with valuation policy.

Key responsibilities

• Validate MTM valuations of physical and derivative positions using independent market data
• Challenge trader P&L, explain variances and reconcile P&L, positions and inventory
• Produce daily/weekly P&L reporting for Commercial, Finance and senior management
• Escalate valuation breaches and control issues; support audits
• Coach a Middle Office Analyst; support budgeting and FY estimates

Requirements

• 5-8 years in Product Control, Middle Office, Valuation Control or Risk within commodity trading
• Strong knowledge of MTM, pricing curves and P&L attribution
• Understanding of physical commodities, derivatives and hedging
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Strong stakeholder management and attention to detail
